Description

Marin Four Corners 1 is an adventure-focused touring bike made for riders who want to go beyond the daily commute. It is equally suited to city riding, rough backroads, light gravel travel, and loaded bikepacking trips. The concept behind this model is simple: long-distance comfort, practical cargo options, and dependable components in a versatile steel platform.

The bike uses a custom-butted 4130 CrMo steel frame and fork, which the manufacturer positions as a comfort-oriented yet load-capable solution for rough pavement and washboard gravel. Marin also equips the Four Corners 1 with extensive mounting options, including bottle and accessory bosses, fork mounts, top tube mounts, rack mounts, and fender mounts. This makes it a very practical platform for bikepacking and utility riding.

The drivetrain is Shimano CUES 2x9, paired with 46/32T chainrings and an 11-36T cassette, giving it a broad and useful range for climbing with gear and covering distance efficiently. The bike also features Tektro mechanical disc brakes and 45 mm tires. Wheel size is matched to frame size, with 650b on XS and S, and 700c on M, L, and XL for a more proportional ride feel.

Marin Four Corners 1 is best suited to riders looking for a practical, stable, and comfortable adventure bike rather than a race-focused gravel build. It is a strong option for commuting, touring, light off-road exploration, and riders planning to carry luggage on longer trips.

Caution: For logistical reasons, the bikes sold in our store are shipped partially disassembled. For most brands, this means that the saddle, front wheel and handlebars are removed. Assembly requires basic knowledge, however, it is recommended to have the bicycle assembled at a specialized bicycle service center. Bicycle manufacturers require a basic preliminary inspection at a specialized bicycle store, which is one of the warranty conditions.

Great bike if it weren't for the gear choice...

Double check the gears before buying

Strengths
  • Very sturdy and comfortable bike, excellent value for money
Weaknesses
  • The choice to mount the 50/34 as a crankset is terrible in my opinion, it is no coincidence that the version for other markets mounts the triple Sora crankset 50/39/30
