Description

Developed in conjunction with freeride legend Matt Jones, and taking it's name from the most rough and tumble piece of Marin County, the all-new San Quentin collection lives up to the notoriety of the namesake maximum security California State Prison. Blending the strength and style of our Alcatraz dirt jump frame with the natural trail-savvy of the Nail Trail hardtail, the San Quentin family of aggressive trail hardtails is the perfect mash-up for the modern trail rider.

My new Favourite bike

I think this bike is a keeper. I ll probabaly upgrade brakes. I will fit a shorter stem though I don't think the bike is crying out for it presently.

Strengths
  • Super Trail bike... And probably more...
  • Excellent Geometry... Reach good...and wheelbase length I like. Which is slightly shorter than my other bike.
  • Happy with sizing... I'm 1m 71 and went with Medium.
  • Handles very well...Responsive and playful.
Weaknesses
  • Worth considering upgrading the brakes...
  • My bike came with a 45mm stem? Marin list a 35mm stem on all spec lists for the San Quentin 3.
  • I think Marin could have allowed more room for internal routing inside the seat tube. With the 150 dropper post fully inserted the bike fits me very well.

I would recommend this product
