Description

Marin Alcatraz 2 is a dedicated dirt jump, street, and pump track bike developed with Marin ambassador and MTB legend Matt Jones. Its design is built around fast acceleration, responsive handling, and the confidence needed for jumps, tricks, and repeated heavy use on pump tracks, skateparks, and slopestyle lines.

The Series 3 6061 aluminum frame is built around 26-inch wheels and uses 135x10 mm horizontal dropouts, a 73 mm threaded bottom bracket, and ISCG 05 tabs. Marin highlights its low weight, stiffness, and durability, while short chainstays are intended to keep the bike responsive and easy to move around. The bike also supports left or right brake routing at the handlebar.

Up front, the bike uses a Manitou Circus Expert fork with 100 mm travel and a coil spring. The drivetrain is a clean single speed setup with a 14T rear cog and 32T chainring, backed by Marin’s chain tension device. At the rear, Marin specs a Tektro HD-M535 4-piston hydraulic disc brake with a 160 mm rotor, while the front brake is not included in the stock specification. The cockpit includes a PNW Range handlebar with 38 mm rise and 800 mm width, plus a new Marin CNC stem.

Marin Alcatraz 2 is aimed at riders who want a real dirt jump bike rather than a general-purpose mountain bike. It suits riders practicing jumps, manuals, rotations, pump track flow, and technical street riding. Marin offers two frame sizes: short for a more BMX-inspired feel, and long for a calmer ride; the manufacturer notes that the long frame fits riders 5’11” and taller.
